Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA)

If you stay on at school or college or start a training programme after Year 11 you can apply for an  Education Maintenance Allowance or EMA.

An EMA is an allowance of up to £30 a week. The amount you get depends on how much your parents or carers earn.

The money is paid to you as long as you keep going to your course or training.

If you apply for an EMA, you will also need to open a bank account.
